Tib was a life long friend, she was there in Greenville when I was born in 1940, and I have photos of Carol Jean holding me and also Maryland. My wife Nancy and I visited Tib one time in Savannah, she was a joy to know, and visit. Can not believe I didn't know of her passing in August or her age -- 107 is incredible. What a great lady she was.

Mrs. Coons was one of Gordonston's most charming neighbors, and she will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her. We used to walk our dogs past her house overlooking the park and would place her newspapers on her porch, saving her a few steps down the sidewalk. May she rest in sweet slumber.

I was very sorry to have just learned of Ms Coons passing. I have a picture that my grandmother gave me that was painted by Ms Coons. My grandmother was Alice Sheppard and she lived on Kenzie Avenue, right around the corner from your mom. I remember going to your moms house quite a few times with my grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers..
